A Magic Leap in the right direction

Augmented Reality (AR) offers huge promise. As the technology evolves it will become as commonplace as mobile phones are today, experienced as a digital layer over the way we view the real world. Right now, everyone can experience AR games and utilities through apps on their mobile phones. This, in itself, is a rapidly expanding market, however, to gain a picture of how the future of everyday AR will look like, you need to look further.

Enter companies like Microsoft (Hololens 2) and Magic Leap who have invested heavily up front and been among the first to market with true AR headsets. The Magic Leap One, in particular, aimed high from the get go intended to bring spatial computing to our homes, albeit at a relatively high cost of entry.

Page 2 is currently in the R&D phase of an exciting new AR project. Part of this is evaluation of the latest and best Augmented Reality headsets. Accordingly, we are now one of the few Australian AR/VR developer companies to be working with the Magic Leap One and we are pleased to report that it’s not all hype!

After showing the Magic Leap to a range of people of varied ages/demographics, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. People are definitely ready for AR in this form, and when the cost of entry comes down, it’ll be game on for the mass market. Today, it’s ready for use in any number of enterprise level solutions and Page 2 is ready to help.

If you’d like to take a look at the Magic Leap One, or to discuss any other AR / VR solutions, get in touch with Page 2 today.
