Rabobank, the world’s leading food and agri bank, have a strong presence in Australia. They are very proactive in support of rural communities, local farmers, and are very progressive when it comes to their use of Augmented & Virtual Reality.

One of Rabobank’s most impressive initiatives was creation of the RaboTruck, a large semitrailer (with two trailers) featuring various AR and VR activities (developed by Page 2) as well as a café, presentation space and observation deck.

Rabobank wanted to give RaboTruck visitors a take home experience, so Page 2 were commissioned to create a companion app.

The RaboTruck app (Apple and Android) features a complete 3D representation of the RaboTruck in show configuration. The AR RaboTruck precinct can be placed on a desktop for convenient viewing, or even scaled up to 1:1 scale so you can walk around to explore with the other “people” attending.

Of special note:

Interactive AR menu system - We created a new way of interacting with menus and buttons in Augmented Reality. Menu buttons are situated in the AR scene and opened by either moving your phone towards the button or tapping it.
Complete AR table top game - endless runner style, drive a tractor and harvest crops to earn savings.
Drive the RaboTruck - Driving mode puts you in control of the RaboTruck. It’s very hard driving / parking a two trailer semi! You can even scale it up to 1:1 (pinch to scale) and try driving it on the road.
3D animation series - an innovative visual way of telling Australia’s food waste story.
RaboTV – Streaming of the latest video, podcast and story episodes from the RaboTV content portal.
Page 2 developed a completely custom built media player for this.
Jumbotron big screen - folding out of the trailer in AR, the screen plays streaming Rabo movies via a custom coded media player.
Social share - full social share within the app of captured video and stills maximises User Generated Content.
Push notifications – Rabobank can proactively send custom notifications to app users notifying them of new content.
